  • 2 tablespoons green pepper, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato, minced
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground oregano
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 6 ounces Monterey jack cheese, shredded (3/4 cup)
  • 6 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (3/4 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cut tortillas into strips.

  • Step 2: Deep fry in hot oil until crisp.

  • Step 3: Drain on paper towels and set aside.

  • Step 4: Combine fish stock, tomato sauce, celery, onion, green pepper, tomato, white pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and bay leaf in saucepan.

  • Step 5: Season to taste with salt.

  • Step 6: Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.

  • Step 7: Remove bay leaf.

  • Step 8: To serve, place tortilla strips in bowl.

  • Step 9: Cover with shredded cheeses and add broth.
