Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 12 ounces evaporated milk (1 can)
  • 12 ounces cooked rice (3/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Heavily butter 2 quart a casserole.

  • Step 3: Mix sugar, salt and vanilla into eggs, pour in milk and water and add rice and raisins.

  • Step 4: Pour into buttered 2 quart casserole, set in pan of hot water and bake 1 hour and 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
