Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • 1/3 cup dry sherry
  • 1 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1/3 cup sliced green onion
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

How to Make

  • Step 1: Score meat, diagonally, on both sides. Place in a large zipper type bag.

  • Step 2: Combine remaining ingredients except water and cornstarch and pour over meat. Seal and refrigerate several hours or overnight, turning bag occasionally.

  • Step 3: Reserve marinade. Place meat on a broiler pan rack. Let sit to warm to room temperature.

  • Step 4: Preheat broiler.

  • Step 5: Place rack 6-7 inches from heat. Broil 6-7 minutes per side for medium doneness.

  • Step 6: Place meat on cutting board and tent with foil.

  • Step 7: Meanwhile, pour reserved marinade into a small saucepan; bring to a boil.

  • Step 8: Dissolve cornstarch in water and add to the marinade. Stir 2 minutes or until thickened.

  • Step 9: Slice meat against grain and serve with sauce.
