Step 1: Mix all the ingredients except the chicken in a large re-sealable bag and swish until salt and sugar are completely dissolved.
Step 2: Add the whole raw chicken, seal the bag removing as much air as possible. Refrigerate and allow to brine for at least 6 hours or overnight.
Step 3: Remove chicken from the brine, rinse, and pat dry.
Step 4: Cook chicken in a roasting pan, uncovered, in a 350-degree oven until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit when inserted in the thickest part of the chicken.
