Step 1: In a mixing bowl, cream shortening.
Step 2: Add sugar, cream and eggs, beat well.
Step 3: In another bowl, whisk (soft) dry ingredients.
Step 4: Add alternately with sour milk (buttermilk) to creamed mixture.
Step 5: Add chopped prunes.
Step 6: Bake in 2 waxed paper-lined 9 inch cake pans for 25 minutes at 350°F.
Step 7: Cream butter, add prune juice and lemon juice, salt, and cinnamon.
Step 8: Beat in powdered sugar gradually.
Step 9: Use to frost cooled cake.
