  • 5 pounds beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup onions, minced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 cups water, boiling
  • Roux
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix rub and rub all over roast.

  • Step 2: Brown beef with the onion.

  • Step 3: Place in Pam sprayed crockpot.

  • Step 4: Deglaze the pan with water.

  • Step 5: Add bay leaves to crockpot.

  • Step 6: Add pieces of roux to pot and whisk.

  • Step 7: Pour over roast.

  • Step 8: Cook on low 8 hours adding water as needed

  • Step 9: Season to taste remove bay leaves.
