Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound lamb, cut into cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cups tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons chicken bouillon
  • 1 tablespoon tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lemon, wedged

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a pressure cooker, fry the onion in vegetable oil until golden.

  • Step 2: Add the lamb cubes and stir for few minutes until half done.

  • Step 3: Add the tomato sauce, chopped tomatoes, chicken stock cubes (2) and 3 cups of water.

  • Step 4: Close the cooker and cook meat on medium heat for almost 30 minutes until it is done.

  • Step 5: Remove pressure cooker from heat and wait until all steam escapes before opening.

  • Step 6: Open the cooker, add the Quaker oatmeal, white pepper, black pepper, salt to taste and water if needed.

  • Step 7: Put the cooker back on low heat while continuing to stir, until the oatmeal is cooked, for about 20 minutes.

  • Step 8: Serve the soup hot with a squeeze of lemon.
