Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente, drain saving 1/2 cup pasta water.
Step 2: Blanch vegetables (not mushrooms) in boiling water a minute or two, just to slightly soften and preserve the color.
Step 3: Remove from heat source and set aside.
Step 4: Put olive oil in a skillet.
Step 5: Add crushed garlic and brown.
Step 6: Add shrimp and cook for a few seconds.
Step 7: Add mushrooms and the pre-blanched vegetables.
Step 8: Continue cooking until shrimp are done.
Step 9: Salt to taste and grind in pepper to taste.
Step 10: Remove pan from heat and set aside.
Step 11: Add pasta to the frying pan and toss with shrimp-vegetable mixture.
Step 12: Also mix in 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water.
Step 13: Add back to heat and cook until tight.
Step 14: Season to taste.
Step 15: Add garnish.
