Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound beef stew meat, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 cups onions, diced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 6 ounces tomato paste (1 can)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 4 tablespoons paprika
  • 8 cups beef broth
  • 10 ounces beef consomme (1 can)
  • 4 red potatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram

How to Make

  • Step 1: Pam spray crockpot.

  • Step 2: In large stockpot saute seasoned beef in butter.

  • Step 3: Remove to crockpot.

  • Step 4: Add onions to butter and brown.

  • Step 5: Remove to crockpot.

  • Step 6: Brown flour, paprika, tomato paste and garlic.

  • Step 7: Remove to crockpot.

  • Step 8: Deglaze pan with 1 cup beef broth.

  • Step 9: Add to crockpot and then add rest of ingredients to crockpot.

  • Step 10: Add whole potatoes.

  • Step 11: Simmer on low 8 hours.

  • Step 12: Season to taste.
