Step 1: Melt margarine in a large saucepan.
Step 2: Add dates, nuts, sugar and salt.
Step 3: Cook for eight minutes over low heat.
Step 4: Remove from heat.
Step 5: Add vanilla and cereal.
Step 6: Cool until mixture can be worked with hands.
Step 7: Shape into walnut-sized balls or finger-sized rolls.
Step 8: Roll in confectioner’s sugar.
