Step 1: Gently crumble the ground beef into a bowl.
Step 2: Whisk seasoning into flour
Step 3: Add the flour mixture and mix gently.
Step 4: Add three tablespoons milk and mix gently.
Step 5: The mixture should be moist, but not gooey.
Step 6: You can add a bit more flour, if needed.
Step 7: Form the meat into 4 patties and place on waxed paper.
Step 8: Cover with another piece of waxed paper.
Step 9: Using a cutting board, press down on the patties gently and flatten them.
Step 10: The finished patties should be thin and about the diameter of a saucer.
Step 11: They will shrink!
Step 12: Fry in a bit of shortening until brown and crispy, turning only once, if possible.
Step 13: Don't press them with the spatula.
Step 14: Remove from pan and top with cheese.
Step 15: Remove grease from skillet, but don’t wipe.
Step 16: Place buns in skillet, return to stove top and "toast" over medium heat.
Step 17: Place burgers on buns.
Step 18: Add toppings and condiments of choice.
