Step 1: Prepare the topping:

Step 7: Spread onto an buttered Pam sprayed cookie sheet.
Step 8: Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown, stirring once.
Step 9: Hot cereal:
Step 10: In saucepan, combine the 3/4 cup of old-fashioned oats, cracked wheat, currants, cinnamon, salt, and milk.
Step 11: Slowly bring to a boil.
Step 12: Immediately reduce to a simmer and cover.
Step 13: Cook approximately 15 minutes.
Step 14: Stir often so it doesn't burn.
Step 15: Bowl up.
Step 16: Sprinkle 1/2 cup of topping mixture over each serving of hot porridge.
