Step 1: Cream the butter.
Step 2: Add in white sugar, salt then brown sugar.
Step 3: Beat in egg yolk.
Step 4: Add one cup flour at a time and then the vanilla.
Step 5: Make small balls and press down with a fork dipped in slightly beaten egg white.
Step 6: Put a piece of walnut on each cookie.
Step 7: Bake at 375 degrees F for 12 minutes until lightly browned.
