Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces dry fettuccine
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup French shallots, minced
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon capers
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cup pasta water
  • 8 ounces heavy cream, (1 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 ounces parmesan cheese, grated (1/2 cup)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.

  • Step 2: Save 1/2 cup pasta water.

  • Step 3: Drain.

  • Step 4: Meanwhile, heat oil and saute shallots and garlic until translucent.

  • Step 5: Add red pepper flakes.

  • Step 6: Add capers.

  • Step 7: Add tomatoes and butter and cook a bit.

  • Step 8: Mash with potato masher.

  • Step 9: Add basil, chicken bouillon, pasta water and drained pasta.

  • Step 10: Add cream but don't boil.

  • Step 11: Toss and season to taste.

  • Step 12: Add cheese when hot and toss
