Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pounds chicken thighs, (8)
  • 2 pounds chicken legs, (8)
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • Wet
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • Dry
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup ground pecans
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt, to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • Garnish
  • 1/4 cup pecan halves

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: In a shallow dish, combine buttermilk and egg.

  • Step 3: In another shallow dish combine flour, ground pecans, paprika, salt, (start low and go higher on salt) pepper, and sesame seeds.

  • Step 4: Dip each chicken piece in the buttermilk mixture, then the pecan mixture.

  • Step 5: Let air dry 15 minutes on cookie rack.

  • Step 6: Meanwhile, melt margarine in a 13x9x2 baking dish.

  • Step 7: Place each chicken piece skin side down in melted margarine, then turn chicken pieces to coat and place skin side up in the baking dish.

  • Step 8: Place pecan halves on each chicken piece.

  • Step 9: Bake at 350 about 75 minutes, or until chicken is golden brown and tender.
