Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.
Step 2: In a large bowl, beat the butter for 1 minute on medium until smooth.
Step 3: Add brown sugar and beat on medium until creamy, about 1 minute.
Step 4: Mix in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla on medium-high until combined.
Step 5: In a separate bowl, sift flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt.
Step 6: Mix into the wet ingredients slowly until combined.
Step 7: Add chocolate chips and nuts and mix.
Step 8: Press dough evenly into greased 9-inch cake pan.
Step 9: Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the cake is lightly golden brown.
Step 10: Remove from the oven and set the pan on a wire rack to cool completely.
