Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2-3 chopped green onions (reserve a few pieces for garnish)
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon cold water
  • 2 eggs, beaten well
  • Black pepper to taste, salt if needed

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine the chicken broth, soy sauce, sesame oil and green onion. Bring to a boil. Stir together the cornstarch and water; pour into the boiling broth and stir until the broth has thickened slightly.

  • Step 2: Continue to stir gently while you pour in the egg. (Be sure the egg is beaten well. Start stirring the broth and get it "swirling" in one direction. Use a fork and continue stirring in that same direction while you add the egg) Add salt and pepper to taste; garnish with reserved green onion tops.
