Step 1: In a deep fryer heat oil to 375 degrees.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal with baking powder, salt, and white pepper.
Step 3: In a smaller bowl, mix eggs with cold milk, onion, and garlic.
Step 4: Add to large mixing bowl, and stir until batter is well blended.
Step 5: Carefully drop heaping tablespoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil.
Step 6: Fry for 3 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 7: Turn to brown evenly, using a slotted spoon.
Step 8: Drain on paper towels.
Step 9: Serve hot.
