Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (or 1 pound ground turkey)
  • 2 pounds zucchini, medium (approx. 9, cut in 1/4-inch half circles or 1 medium head cabbage, cored and sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 white onion, large (chopped)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 26 ounces spaghetti sauce (your choice I like Prego traditional)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons dried sweet basil leaves or italian seasoning
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • Garlic salt, to taste
  • Cottage cheese or parmesan cheese, to serve (optional)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown ground beef with onion and bell pepper in a large skillet or pot with lid. Drain grease.

  • Step 2: Add garlic and seasonings. Stir.

  • Step 3: Add zucchini or cabbage and stir. Cover with lid and cook over medium heat for approximately 15 minutes until the zucchini is crisp tender (I don't add any water, the zucchini has enough). Stir about every 5 minutes.

  • Step 4: Remove lid and stir in spaghetti sauce. Cook for another 5 minutes.

  • Step 5: Great served with cottage cheese or topped with parmesan!
