Step 1: In a small bowl, combine the garlic, red onion, vinegar and olive oil. Season with 1/2 teaspoon salt and some pepper to taste.
Step 2: In a separate bowl, gently toss the beans with the remaining 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Cover the bowl and microwave until hot, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from microwave and immediately add the dressing mixture. Toss gently to combine. Let stand until cooled to room temperature - about 30 minutes. Gently stir occasionally.
Step 3: Add the parsley, dill, lemon zest and juice. Toss gently. Add the avocado. Toss gently. Taste and adjust seasonings to taste. Transfer to a serving dish and drizzle with a bit of olive oil, if desired.
Step 4: NOTE: if making ahead, don't add the avocado until ready to serve.
