Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 ounces dry macaroni
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 24 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, (3 cups)
  • 1 cup milk, warm
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

How to Make

  • Step 1: Add macaroni to 2 quarts of boiling salted water and cook for 10 minutes.

  • Step 2: Meanwhile, preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 3: Butter a 2 quart casserole.

  • Step 4: Drain cooked macaroni well in colander, transfer to mixing bowl.

  • Step 5: Stir in 1 tablespoon butter.

  • Step 6: Add 2 1/2 cups of the grated cheese.

  • Step 7: In a small bowl combine by whisking milk with Worcestershire sauce, salt, mustard and beaten egg.

  • Step 8: Spoon macaroni and cheese into prepared casserole.

  • Step 9: Pour milk mixture over top and sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup of grated cheese.

  • Step 10: Sprinkle with paprika.

  • Step 11: Bake on middle rack at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.
