Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: No need to grease the pans.
Step 3: Beat butter and sugar until creamy.
Step 4: Add egg, vanilla and water and beat well.
Step 5: In another bowl, whisk flour, cornstarch and salt and add to butter mixture and combine well.
Step 6: Drop batter by rounded teaspoonfuls about 1 1/2 inches apart onto cookie sheets.
Step 7: Bake about 8 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
Step 8: Remove from oven and carefully transfer to racks to cool.
