Step 1: Cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.
Step 2: Drain.
Step 3: Sauce:
Step 4: Pour oil into a large heatproof bowl and add garlic, tomatoes, cheese, basil and a grinding of fresh pepper.
Step 5: Cover and let marinate for at least an hour on the counter, it has to be room temperature for cheese to melt right.
Step 6: Drain pasta and add immediately to the bowl.
Step 7: Toss everything with tongs until the cheese has just started to melt.
Step 8: Divide among bowls and serve at once.
Step 9: Season to taste.
