  • 16 ounces dry spaghetti
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce
  • 4 ounces bacon, chopped, (4 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup onion, minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 ounces ham, chopped
  • 5 ounces evaporated milk (1 can)
  • 10 ounces cream of mushroom soup (1 can)
  • 4 ounces heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 4 ounces parmesan cheese, grated (1/4 cup)
  • 2 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cook spaghetti in heavily salted boiling water until al dente. It needs to cook in the sauce a touch.

  • Step 2: Drain, saving 1/4 cup water.

  • Step 4: In a pan, cook bacon until crisp and remove.

  • Step 5: Heat oil adding to bacon grease and saute garlic and onion.

  • Step 6: Add mushrooms and ham.

  • Step 7: Add bacon back in.

  • Step 8: Drain if to greasy for you.

  • Step 9: Add evaporated milk and mushroom soup.

  • Step 10: Stir until creamy.

  • Step 11: Add the cream and grated parmesan cheese.

  • Step 12: Stir and season with ground pepper.

  • Step 13: Simmer until beginning to thicken.

  • Step 14: Add pasta and pasta water and stir through sauce until blended.

  • Step 15: Simmer until thickened.

  • Step 16: Remove from heat and add parsley.
