We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.

  • Step 3: Shape the meat mixture into medium-sized meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each meatball.

  • Step 4: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and slightly browned on the outside.

  • Step 5: While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent and the garlic is fragrant.

  • Step 6: Stir in the marinara sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for 5-10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  • Step 7: Carefully transfer the baked meatballs from the baking sheet to the skillet with the sauce. Gently toss the meatballs to coat them with the sauce. Allow them to simmer in the sauce for an additional 5-10 minutes.

  • Step 8: Serve the Mad Scientist's Monster Meatballs over cooked spaghetti or with crusty bread. Spoon some additional sauce over the meatballs, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
