How to Make

  • Step 1: In a mixing bowl, combine the refried beans, Rotel tomatoes, and taco seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  • Step 2: Spread the refried bean mixture evenly on the bottom of a rectangular serving dish or baking dish. The rectangular dish will help create the shape of the flag.

  • Step 3: Spread the guacamole over the refried bean layer.

  • Step 4: Spoon the sour cream on top of the guacamole and spread it out evenly.

  • Step 5: To create the American flag design on the top layer, use the shredded Monterey Jack cheese and chunky salsa to make the stripes. Arrange the cheese and salsa in alternating stripes, leaving space for the stars part (in the top left corner, leave a box, where the blue is).

  • Step 6: Place the sliced black olives in the space on the top layer (the top left corner).

  • Step 7: Refrigerate for at least an hour.

  • Step 8: Serve the with tortilla chips or corn chips on the side.
