  • 1/4 cup red onion , minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon capers, minced
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/16 teaspoon kosher salt
  • Sandwich
  • 6 ounces white bread
  • 6 ounces pumpernickel bread
  • 6 tablespoons butter

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix filling, seasoning to taste. You can play around with the filling amounts if you wish, less onion or capers and you can cut crust's off if you wish to be fancy.

  • Step 2: Butter both varieties of bread; put filling equally on 6 slices of pumpernickel

  • Step 3: Put buttered white slice on top.

  • Step 4: Cut in diagonal both ways.
