Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/2 cup rum (dark or spiced)
  • 2 ounces cherry liqueur
  • 2 ounces lime juice
  • 2 ounces simple syrup
  • Ice cubes
  • Club soda or sparkling water (optional, for topping)
  • Lime slices or cherries (for garnish)
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a glass jar or container with a tight-fitting lid, combine the fresh cherries and rum. Close the lid tightly and give it a good shake to ensure the cherries are well coated in the rum. Let the cherries soak in the rum for at least 1 hour, or ideally overnight in the refrigerator to infuse the flavors.

  • Step 2: Once the cherries are infused, strain them from the rum, reserving both the cherries and the rum separately.

  • Step 3: In a cocktail shaker, add the cherry liqueur, lime juice, simple syrup, and about 1 tablespoon of the rum from the soaked cherries.

  • Step 4: Fill the shaker with ice cubes and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds to chill the mixture.

  • Step 5: Strain the cocktail mixture into a glass filled with ice cubes.

  • Step 6: Drop a few of the rum-soaked cherries into the glass. You can also skewer a few cherries and use them as a garnish.

  • Step 7: If desired, top the cocktail with a splash of club soda or sparkling water for some effervescence.

  • Step 8: Garnish the cocktail with a lime slice or additional cherries.

  • Step 9: Give the cocktail a gentle stir before sipping and enjoy the delightful combination of rum-soaked cherries with the cherry liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup.
