We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until it is browned and cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set it aside.

  • Step 2: In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, red bell pepper, and grated carrot. Sauté until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.

  • Step 3: Return the cooked ground beef to the skillet with the sautéed vegetables. Stir in the tomato paste, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend together.

  • Step 4: Toast the slices of bread until they are lightly golden and crisp.

  • Step 5: Spoon the sloppy joe mixture over each slice of toasted bread, spreading it evenly.

  • Step 6: Top each sandwich with a dollop of lingonberry jam.

  • Step 7: Garnish with fresh parsley.
