The ingredients are:
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2: Combine the flour, salt, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, brown sugar, white sugar and vegetable oil. Mix until well blended.

  • Step 3: REMOVE 3/4 cups to save for the topping (add the remaining 1 teaspoon of cinnamon to the topping mixture).

  • Step 4: To the remainder of the mixture (NOT the topping), add the baking soda, baking powder, beaten egg and buttermilk.

  • Step 5: Mix until smooth.

  • Step 6: Pour into a greased 9"x13" pan.

  • Step 7: Sprinkle with reserved topping.

  • Step 8: Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
