Step 1: Cook diced bacon in a large skillet with a tight-fitting lid until crisp.
Step 2: Add ground beef and brown well.
Step 3: Add remaining ingredients in layers, being sure that the macaroni is well dampened (make sure there is liquid splashed over the macaroni on every layer).
Step 4: Cover with tight-fitting lid; cook over high heat until steam escapes the lid.
Step 5: Turn down to simmer and cook for 30 minutes (or until the macaroni is tender).
