  • 2 tablespoons bacon grease
  • 4 ounces dehydrated hash browns (1 package)
  • 1 cup water, warm
  • 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Fill the potato package with warm water about 30 minutes before you want to cook them.

  • Step 2: After that drain really well.

  • Step 3: Heat the bacon grease.

  • Step 4: Add the potatoes in an even layer.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle on seasonings to taste.

  • Step 6: Sprinkle on onions, cover for 5 minutes on a simmer.

  • Step 7: Check to see if bottom is brown not burnt.

  • Step 8: Flip over and brown other side.

  • Step 9: Last couple minutes layer cheese over the top and allow to melt.
