Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 12 tomatillos, husked and cleaned
  • 2 roma tomatoes, quartered
  • 6 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 3 jalapeno peppers, stems removed
  • 1 small onion, quartered
  • 1 bunch of fresh cilantro, most of the stems removed
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Honey, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Lightly char the tomatillos, garlic, jalapenos and onion over an open flame, on a grill or in a heavy skillet on high heat until they are starting to brown and caramelize.

  • Step 2: Add all of the ingredients except the honey, salt and pepper into a food processor or blender and blend until a thick salsa is created; if you like it chunky, process it less than if you like it smooth. Add water, as needed, to help it blend.

  • Step 3: Add honey, salt and black pepper to taste.
