  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon seven spice mix
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Get spices and broth measured out.

  • Step 2: Add the margarine and olive oil in a stock pot over medium heat.

  • Step 3: Add the uncooked orzo and keep stirring until the color is golden brown, don't burn.

  • Step 4: Add spices, broth and water.

  • Step 5: Once it boils, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the orzo is al dente, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 6: Add lemon juice at end to taste
