Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Carrots
  • 16 ounces baby carrots
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 cups water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, (called for 1 teaspoon)
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Sauce
  • 5 tablespoons butter
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1 can (15 ounces) peas, drained
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (called for one teaspoon),to taste
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar,to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat carrots, water, salt and butter for 20 minutes until soft.

  • Step 2: In a second pan make roux by melting butter and adding flour, cook until light brown.

  • Step 3: Add carrot water and whisk until thickened.

  • Step 4: Add carrots, peas, seasoning to taste.

  • Step 5: Then sugar and lemon juice both to taste, I think carrots are sweet enough and i don't add sugar myself.

  • Step 6: Simmer until thickened.
