Step 1: In a large saucepan or skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Step 2: Add carrots, celery and onions and sauté until they're just tender, about 3 minutes. Add the ground beef and cook until almost browned, breaking up the meat as you stir.
Step 3: Grate garlic into pan and add sliced mushrooms,
Step 4: Keep stirring until meat is no longer pink.
Step 5: Pour in the jar of store-bought marinara sauce along with salt, pepper and oregano.
Step 6: Cover pan and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens.
Step 7: Cook pasta so it will be ready when the sauce is.
Step 8: When the Bolognese sauce has reached your desired consistency, stir in the 1/2 and1/2, if using.
Step 9: Mangia!
