Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • Spices
  • 2 teaspoons fennel seed, toasted
  • 1 teaspoon sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • Sauce
  • 1 can (28 ounces) whole tomatoes
  • 1 jar (28 ounces) spaghetti sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon fennel seeds
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • Pasta
  • 8 ounces dry rigatoni
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Toppings
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil, minced
  • 4 ounces Parmesan cheese, shaved
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix meat and spices together and refrigerate.

  • Step 2: Coat the inside of a crockpot with non-stick spray.

  • Step 3: Put ingredients in and cook on low 6 hours, adding water as needed but you need thick sauce at the end.

  • Step 4: Last 30 minutes crumble meat mixture on a cookie sheet and bake in 350 degrees Fahrenheit oven for 10 minutes until lightly browned.

  • Step 5: Drain off and discard the fat.

  • Step 6: Add meat mixture to the sauce.

  • Step 7: Meanwhile cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.

  • Step 8: Check sauce for seasoning.

  • Step 9: Top pasta with sauce.

  • Step 10: Top with shaved Parmesan cheese and fresh parsley, fresh basil ,red pepper flakes if you like.
