Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 24 slices thin sandwich bread
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, very soft
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Small pinch cayenne pepper (can omit)
  • 1 cup olives, diced finely (green or black or a mixture of both, can use pimiento-stuffed olives)
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped (toasted)
  • Fresh ground black pepper
  • Salt (optional and to taste)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Slice the crusts off from each slice of bread.

  • Step 2: Flatten the slices using a rolling pin.

  • Step 3: Hand-squeeze or pat dry any excess moisture from the chopped olives.

  • Step 4: In a bowl combine the cream cheese with mayonnaise and garlic powder until smooth and well combined.

  • Step 5: Mix in the olives and pecans, then season with black pepper and a small amount of salt if desired.

  • Step 6: Spread about 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture on one side of each bread slice, then roll up tightly.

  • Step 7: Place a piece of plastic wrap fairly tightly around each roll.

  • Step 8: Chill the rolls for at least 5 hours.

  • Step 9: Remove the plastic wrap and slice each roll into 4 even slices.
