Step 1: Heat oil and butter and add garlic and onions.

Step 5: Simmer 30 minutes.
Step 6: Remove bay leaf and add cornstarch mixed in water.
Step 7: Blend with stick blender until smooth.
Step 8: Add cream and heat.
Step 9: Season to taste.
Step 10: Can top with croutons.
