  • 1 tablespoon bacon grease
  • 1 cup tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 green onions, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 can (15 ounces) red kidney beans,undrained
  • 1⁄2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon,cube
  • 1 tablespoons cilantro, minced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat grease

  • Step 2: Add the chopped tomatoes, chopped green onions and cumin to the pan.

  • Step 3: Sauté them in the bacon fat until they are soft, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add the beans (including liquid) to the pan

  • Step 5: Add water, and the chicken bouillon cube.

  • Step 6: Bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes more, until most of the water has evaporated and the beans have thickened.

  • Step 7: Remove from heat and stir in the chopped cilantro.
