  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 F.

  • Step 2: Brush baking sheets lightly with vegetable oil.

  • Step 3: Pam spray it

  • Step 4: In bowl

  • Step 5: Whisk together flour, salt and baking soda

  • Step 6: Add oats stirr again

  • Step 7: In second bowl

  • Step 8: Beat together the shortening, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla with electric mixer. Add eggs,

  • Step 10: Gradually beat in flour mixture.

  • Step 11: Stir in chocolate chips.

  • Step 12: Drop batter by well-rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.

  • Step 13: Bake in oven (preheated to 350 degrees F) for 8 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Step 14: Cool cookies on sheets for 2 minutes.

  • Step 15: Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
