Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork, (or veal)
  • 3/4 cups bread crumbs
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 2/3 cup onion, chopped fine
  • 1/3 cup carrot, grated
  • 2/3 cup green bell pepper, chopped fine
  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup parsley, chopped fine
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon season all
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper, to taste 
  • Topping
  • 7 ounces tomato sauce (1 can)
  • 7 ounces water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Spray 9x13 casserole dish with Pam.

  • Step 3: Mix all ingredients except tomato sauce thoroughly, shape into a loaf.

  • Step 4: Mix tomato sauce with 1 can water, spread evenly over top.

  • Step 5: (They basted meatloaf back then.)

  • Step 6: Bake 1 hour in a 350 degrees F oven.

  • Step 7: Let rest 10 minutes covered in foil tent (they did that too).
