Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 package (12 ounce)egg noodles
  • 6 ounces bacon, chopped,(6 slices)
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, chopped fine
  • 1 cup green bell pepper, chopped fine
  • 1 can (6 ounces) sliced mushrooms
  • 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 4 ounces parmesan cheese,(ΒΌ cup )grated
  • 1 can (12 ounces)tomato juice

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

  • Step 2: Fill a large pot with salted water and bring to a rolling boil over high heat.

  • Step 3: Once the water is boiling, stir in the egg noodles, and return to a boil.

  • Step 4: Cook the pasta uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the pasta has cooked through, but is still firm to the bite, about 5 minutes. (It has to cook longer)

  • Step 5: Drain well

  • Step 6: Meanwhile

  • Step 7: Place the bacon into a Dutch oven over medium heat, and cook until just starting to soften, 3 to 4 minutes;

  • Step 8: Add the ground beef, onion, and green pepper, and cook and stir until the meat is browned and the vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.

  • Step 9: Drain excess fat.

  • Step 10: Mix in the cooked noodles, mushrooms, and diced tomatoes until thoroughly combined.

  • Step 11: Sprinkle the Parmesan cheese over the mixture, and pour the tomato juice over the casserole

  • Step 12: Bake in the preheated oven until browned and bubbling, about 1 hour.
