Step 1: In a saucepan, caramelize butter and sugar on medium heat until bubbly. Add vinegar and whisk until lumps are gone. Add all the other ingredients and simmer on low heat until thickened. Cool and refrigerate in an airtight container. Hold for about one week. Makes about 5 1/2 cups.
Step 2: Roast the chicken wings ahead on a cookie sheet seasoned with salt and pepper at 375-degrees for 35 - 40 minutes or until almost done. Then smother the wings with enough bbq sauce and place on an outdoor grill until slightly charred and done, about 5 - 10 minutes per side. Can also finish the wings off on a skillet in place of an outdoor grill.
