  • 1 box(6 ounce) long grain and wild rice blend, uncooked, including packet
  • 2 ounces raw white rice,(1/2 cup)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 pound asparagus, cut lengthwise into 1/2 inch slices
  • 4 cups vegetable broth
  • 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 can(12 ounce) evaporated milk
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1⁄3 cup parsley, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Saute asparagus and onion and mushroom in oil

  • Step 2: Add rice ,rice mix

  • Step 3: Add garlic

  • Step 4: Add broth and rice mix packet

  • Step 5: Season to taste

  • Step 6: Simmer

  • Step 7: 30 minutes

  • Step 8: Mix milk and cornstarch

  • Step 9: Add to soup rinse out can with water

  • Step 10: Simmer 10 minutes until thickened

  • Step 11: Add parsley
