Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the first 6 ingredients (butter-cinnamon). Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Let boil for 1 minutes, stirring frequently.
Step 2: Whisk in the vanilla and the baking soda. It will foam up when you add the baking soda. Let cook for 10 seconds.
Step 3: Let cool. Store in the refrigerator.
