Step 1: Melt chocolate in double boiler first. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs.
Step 2: Sift flour and add alternately with milk. Then add 1/2 cup hot water to melted chocolate.
Step 3: Put other 1/2 cup water in a pan and bring to a boil (THIS IS MOST IMPORTANT).
Step 4: To this add soda and immediately add this to chocolate mixture.
Step 5: Pour chocolate mixture into the batter, add vanilla.
Step 6: Bake in greased and floured pan at 325 degrees for about 50 minutes.
Step 7: Cake will pull away from sides of pan when done.
Step 8: Spread frosting on immediately
Step 9: Frosting
Step 10: Cook in double boiler 12 minutes
