Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup onions, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic,smashed
  • 1 can (6 ounces)tomato paste
  • 1 can(28 ounces)crushed tomatoes
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Noodles:
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup water,
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt, divided
  • 1 3/4 cups flour

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat butter in large Dutch oven .

  • Step 2: Sauté onion, 5 minutes.

  • Step 3: Add garlic and continuing cooking 3 minutes until garlic is fragrant not brown.

  • Step 4: Add tomato paste

  • Step 5: Add stock.

  • Step 6: Add tomatoes

  • Step 7: Stir in seasonings.

  • Step 8: Reduce heat to low.

  • Step 9: Cover and simmer 40 minutes.

  • Step 10: To make poured noodles:

  • Step 11: Beat eggs in medium bowl with water and 1 teaspoon of salt.

  • Step 12: Slowly whisk in flour to form a smooth, thin batter.

  • Step 13: Bring a large pot of water to boil with remaining 1 teaspoon of salt.

  • Step 14: Pour batter into boiling water by teaspoonfuls.

  • Step 15: Boil dough 2 to 3 minutes until noodles float to top.

  • Step 16: Drain on paper towels.

  • Step 17: Stir sour cream and 1 tablespoon of flour

  • Step 18: Together

  • Step 19: Temper in some hot liquid

  • Step 20: Pour into tomato soup.

  • Step 21: Continue to simmer 5 minutes.

  • Step 22: Serve soup warm over homemade noodles.

  • Step 23: Garnish with parsley

  • Step 24: Season to taste
