Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 pounds chicken legs
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • Dredge:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Wet:
  • 1 can (5 ounces) evaporated milk ,rinse out can with water
  • 1/2 cup water

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat shortening up in a cast iron skillet

  • Step 2: Mix dry ingredients in 1 bowl

  • Step 3: And wet ingredients in another bowl season both to taste

  • Step 4: Dip chicken in the wet bowl then dip it in the dredge coating all sides

  • Step 5: Place gently in hot oil

  • Step 6: Fry on one side until browned

  • Step 7: Flip and cover

  • Step 8: Chicken is cooked when you pierce it the juices run clear

  • Step 9: Take chicken out and place in a warm oven you have cooked biscuits in

  • Step 10: Remove the shortening from skillet leaving 3 tablespoons of grease

  • Step 11: Add 3 tablespoons of your dredge flour and brown then add wet ingredients

  • Step 12: And stir like crazy season to taste you may need more water. add if you need to
