Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 pound shrimp (cooked salad shrimp or finely chopped shrimp, well-drained)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Salt, dash
  • White pepper, dash
  • Lettuce (such as bibb or red lettuce, for plating - optional)
  • Watercress, for garnish (optional)
  • FOR COCKTAIL SAUCE
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon onion juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Tabasco sauce (few drops)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine all the Spread ingredients, except for the lettuce and watercress. Mix well and form into a cheese wheel, 1-inch high. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate several hours or overnight. This helps develop the flavors of the spread, so it's very important to make this ahead.

  • Step 2: Combine ingredients for sauce and refrigerate to blend flavors.

  • Step 3: To serve, place a bed of bibb or red lettuce on serving plate. Set wheel on top. Frost with sauce and garnish with watercress. Serve with crackers. Makes 2 cups
